Welcome to Yaghoubi Law! As my first blog post, I will introduce myself to you and tell you a little bit about my practice. My name is Lauren Yaghoubi and I have been married to my husband since March 2010; we have since been blessed with three children! I was admitted to practice in March 2014 after passing the July 2013 New York Bar Exam and graduating from the Maurice A. Dean School of Law at Hofstra University in May 2013.
While in law school I experimented with different types of law by interning at various institutions. I learned about family law through my clerkship with Honorable Judge James D’Auguste at the Bronx County Family Court and my almost year- long internship at the Nassau County Attorney’s Office, Family Law Bureau. I learned and became well versed in child support, custody, and even juvenile delinquency and PINS matters. Later in law school I also volunteered with the Mediation Clinic through which we mediated custody and PINS cases and I was able to further hone my family law and dispute resolution skills.
I also had the opportunity to work at the Office of the Attorney General, Real Estate Finance Bureau where we resolved escrow disputes, reviewed offering plans and amendments to offering plans, and also resolved condo board disputes with sponsors and enforced habitability regulations against fraudulent sponsors. Through my work at the OAG I developed a passion for real estate and eventually worked with the Long Island law firm Ezratty, Ezratty & Levine where I learned about landlord tenant law and also assisted in real estate residential closings.
After graduation, I accepted an offer to work as in- house counsel to Farmers Insurance Exchange (cue the “We are Farmers, bam bam bam…” chime) where I developed, even further, my litigation and client management skills.
Consistently through my various employment opportunities I gained satisfaction helping my community. Whether it be making sure our community children are supported or helping families resolve internal issues or purchase a family home, it was the attorney’s helping hand that always drove my passion and motivation to do more and learn more. Now, with my own practice I embark to help my own community and community members who are struggling with those same issues meet a successful resolution. I am proudly born and raised in Great Neck and am looking forward to joining the workforce here and representing you in the best capacity. See you soon!
